Submission Guidelines
FireNews.net invites your submissions on news stories, incident reports, photographs, videos and any other type of item you wish to share with the fire service community of North Carolina.
The following are examples of the types of items we are interested in:
- Recent working incidents or events, including photographs. Submission can be any length, but please include at least one paragraph detailing the incident or event.
- Non-emergency training, public safety education and similar events.
- Recent new apparatus deliveries. May include significant rehab projects.
- Historical North Carolina Fire Department images.
- Stand alone “Hot Shots” of any type of incident.
- A crew shot of your department or company. We invite 911 centers and admin staff to participate as well.
- A photo of your fire station.
- Announcements and event information.
- Please do not submit photos of scenes after the fact (i.e., after the fire is out and the fire department is no longer on the scene).
- We are no longer requesting fire department patch submissions.
Please include your name, agency and your email address.
Photography Guidelines:
- Digital images can be emailed to the addresses below. Photos can be any resolution, as long as they are at least 72 dpi. Please ensure images are at least 300 pixels wide, although most images are 426 wide. Most digital cameras will fufill these requirements.
- Do not submit images that are out of focus, poorly composed or have lense obstructions.
- If any images have victims included, we reserve the right to crop or alter the image to obscure their identity. It is not the intention of FireNews to publish photographs of members of the public in graphic situations.
- If you scan an image, scan at 72dpi (RGB).
- Send photographs as attachments to an email.
