KERNERSVILLE - Deputy Chief Chad Eric Greene, age 34, of Union Cross Fire Rescue, died on Wednesday, November 4th after responding to a MVC and completing a shift with Union Cross Fire Rescue.
Greene was found unresponsive at home around noon. After resuscitation efforts failed, he was pronounced at North Carolina Baptist Hospital at 12:30 hours.
Chad was a Deputy Chief and worked part-time with Union Cross. He was an eighteen year veteran. His full-time position was with the High Point Fire Department in Guilford County, serving as a fire equipment operator. He had been with High Point for thirteen years.
Deputy Chief Green is survived by his with Kimberly, daughter Emma Kaytlin and son Jacob Austin.

The Union Cross Fire Department and the High Point Fire Department are with heavy hearts today as we mourn the loss of a well distinguished member. Deputy Chief with the Union Cross Fire Department and Fire Equipment Operator with the High Point Fire Department, Chad Eric Greene passed away unexpectedly on the 4th November 2009.
Chad was a caring husband, loving father of two children, a well respected son and a supportive brother to his family. He was an outstanding firefighter with both agencies distinguishing himself as a valuable asset. Both the Union Cross Fire Department and the High Point Fire Department are acknowledging this a Line of Duty Death due to Chad having responded to an emergency incident while working with the Union Cross Fire Department at approximately 07:00 hours on the date of his death.
Funeral Arrangements are as follows:
Visitation will be held Saturday the 7th of November 2009 at Green Street Baptist Church, 303 North Rotary Drive in High Point, North Carolina, 27262.
Celebration of Life Service will also be held at Green St. Baptist Church at 14:00 hours on Sunday the 8th of November 2009.
Gravesite Rites will be held at the Union Cross Moravian Church located at 4295 High Point Rd, Winston Salem, North Carolina, 27107 immediately after the Celebration of Life Service.
