MACON COUNTY – On Friday, January 4, 2013 Franklin Fire and Rescue was dispatched to fire at a home at 193 Kinsland Road.

The caller advised that their oxygen machine had caught fire and they were disabled.

The homeowner and their family member was able to escape the home without injury.

On arrival, Franklin Fire crews found a fire the in the living room area. The fire was brought under control very quickly.

A search was preformed and firefighters found the family dog down and unresponsive.

Firefighters brought the dog outside and began resuscitation efforts.

Fire crews were able to revive the family dog and Macon County Animal Control transported it to a Vet in Georgia.

Mountain Valley FD and Cullasaja FD provided mutual aid to Franklin. Macon County EMS responded as well.
