Deputy Chief Dies at Firehouse

SWEPSONVILLE - Deputy
Chief Jerry Donley, age 46, was found dead at the fire station
this morning after working a 24 hour shift.
He was a twenty-eight year veteran of the fire service.
Donley had answered an afternoon/evening fire call on 8/6. He
arrived at the department on the morning of 8/7 for his scheduled
24-hour shift. He spent the morning cleaning equipment from the
incident the day before and responded to at least one EMS
incident.
He was discovered this morning after passing away from an unknown
cause. He had no prior known medical conditions.
The family has asked that memorials and
donations be made to the
North Carolina Fallen Firefighter's
Foundation in memory of Jerry.

Friday, August 10, 2007 from 1700 to 2000 hours at Rich &
Thompson Funeral Home, 207 East Elm Street, Graham, NC 27253.

Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 1100 hours at Bethel Baptist
Church, 238 Dixon Road, Graham, NC 27253.
Burial:
Immediately following funeral service at Hawfields Cemetery,
2115 Hwy 119 South, Mebane, NC 27302.
