RANDOLPH COUNTY - The Piedmont N.C. Firefighters Association (PNCFA) presented Victory Junction Gang Camp a check for $3600.00 during its Board Meeting on June 27. The PNCFA held a charity golf tournament to raise the funds to sponsor a child to attend Victory Junction Gang Camp and for the PNCFA scholarship fund. The camp operates solely on the donations from corporations, organizations and individuals and serves children that would not otherwise be able to attend a camp because of their medical needs.

PNCFA is holding another charity golf tournament October 24, 2007 at the Whispering Pines County Club in Southern Pines, NC. For more information on sponsoring or playing in the tournament please visit the association’s website at www.pncfa.org.

The next PNCFA quarterly dinner meeting will be held July 25, 1830 at Guil-Rand Fire Department (10506 S. Main Street, Archdale). The topic of the meeting will be the Southeastern Guilford High School Fire. Guest speakers will discuss the type of building construction that contributed to the spread of the fire, as well as the difficulty in trying to control it.  This is a common type of construction used throughout North Carolina and learning its dangers and how to address fires in these structures will be interesting and beneficial to everyone. Prior to the meeting there will be a golf outing the Colonial Country Club in Thomasville.

See this flyer for more information.
