GASTON COUNTY - The Community Fire
Department in Gaston County has taken delivery of a 2006 Fast Tak by
American LaFrance. The unit is mounted on a Ford F-550 chassis
powered by a 6.0 Powerstroke Diesel. It features a 300 gallon tank
and 300 gpm pump powered by a 3-cylinder Lombardi diesel engine. The
vehicle is four wheel drive and was purchased to help supplement the
departments light duty responses (EMS, light rescue, inclement
weather situations).
