Sugar Hill - Montford Cove Volunteer Fire Department,

MARION - Congratulations to Chief Craig Walker, President Joe Washburn and the members of Sugar Hill - Montford Cove Volunteer Fire Department of McDowell County, on the recent delivery of their 2007 Kenworth  / 4 Guys pumper tanker. It is built on a T300 series Kenworth with a 330 hp Cummins ISC diesel engine. It has an Allison 3000 EVS transmission and a 14,600 front axle and 26,000 rear axle. It is dressed out with polished Alcoa aluminum wheels and Real Wheels trim kits.

 

The pump is a Waterous CSUYCX 1500 gpm single stage with a mechanical seal. It has a 5 year warranty. The pump is controlled by a Fire Research Pro pressure governor. It has a FoamPro 1600 fully automatic Class A foam system. It has a Waterous Thermal Relief Valve and Waterous Monarch manual intake valve on both 6" suctions. All 3" and smaller valves are Akron 8000 heavy duty valves with a 10 year warranty. It has four 1 1/2" discharges with 2” plumbing, two crosslays and two in the front bumper. In addition to three 2 1/2" discharges, it has a 3" full flow discharge for 4" Storz LDH and a 3" pre-piped water way for the Akron Apollo deck gun. The deck gun is mounted on a TFT 18" Extend-A-Gun for use off any direction. It also comes with a ground base. There are custom built compartments in the pump panel for fill hose to be carried on each side. There is also a custom built microphone and radio compartment on the pump panel.

 

The water tank is a 1250 gallon UPF poly tank with a 20 gallon foam cell. It has a rear 10" electric activated stainless steel Newton dump valve. It has a 3" rear tank fill. It has water level gauges on the pump panel and the rear of the truck. It came with a 2100 gallon Fol-da-tank carried in a compartment in the hose bed in the rear. Also, in the rear there are two compartments for hard suction hose which are easily accessible for the driver to get the 6" suction hose out, without climbing on the truck. These compartments also contain two pike poles and the folding ladder. Below the dump valve is a compartment set-up to carry six spare SCBA bottles. Above the dump valve, is a large 72" wide compartment.

 

The body is all 12 gauge 304 grade stainless steel and has 4 Guys famous 20 year warranty.  It has five compartments on the left side with a pull out tool board and three adjustable shelves. The right side has four compartments with one shelf and one slide out tray. It is equipped with an Onan Hydraulic 6000 watt PTO generator with a breaker box. It has two 1500 watt Fire Research quartz lights, on a push-up poles on the front of the pump panel.  There is a 120 volt 20 amp outlet on both pump panels. The body includes six Whelen 9E fixed scene lights and the two on the rear are tied to reverse. The upper and lower level red lights are Whelen LED's .  It has a Federal Q2b siren and a Code 3 electronic siren.  It has a custom built console between the seats.

 

This is truly a custom built truck on a commercial chassis.  The DuPont Imron 6000 paint carries a 10 warranty.
