ASHEVILLE – Asheville firefighters responded for a reported building collapse in the busy area just north of downtown on Thursday afternoon.
No injuries were reported after all occupants were accounted for.
The spokesperson for the Asheville Fire Department said the 5,200-square-foot building built in 1917 collapsed along Carolina Lane.
It was believed that crews were on site demolishing the building when the collapse occurred.
Several adjacent businesses were evacuated as a precaution.
