RALEIGH - Raleigh fire units responded to a very familiar apartment complex in west Raleigh on Wednesday afternoon. A fire in a twenty-four unit apartment building on Wesville Court quickly escalated to two alarms. The complex has been the scene of numerous working firs and multiple alarms over the years. Command eventually called for an extra engine and ladder and canteen service from Barry's Cafe.

SAMPSON COUNTY - Newton Grove and Meadow Fire, Benson and Newton Grove EMS responded to a deadly single-vehicle SUV roll-over on Interstate 40. Two victims were ejected including an infant in a car seat. One person was pinned. All three died at the scene. A "rubbernecker" rear end crash in the opposite lanes resulted in two more injuries. The interstate was shut down for several hours as DOT and the SHP Recon Team using a helicopter investigated the scene.

DURHAM - Durham fire units arrived at the 1100 block of Simmons Street to find two vacant homes with heavy fire conditions in both. No injuries were reported. Units responding were Battalion Chiefs 3 and 1, Engines 1, 4, 12, Ladders 1 and 2, MS1 (Air/Support), Squad-4 and FD5.

DENVER - Denver Fire and Catawba EMS responded to this serious MVC in October at the intersection of Grassy Creed Road and Sagittarius Circle. One person in the Mustang died, and two others suffered injuries. Extrication was performed in 14 minutes of arrival.

FORSYTH COUNTY: The Forsyth County Fire Marshal's Office, Lewisville, Vienna, Old Richmond and Winston-Salem Engines 10 and 18 participated in a live burn exercise on Shallowford Road in downton Lewisville. The training took place on Saturday, December 16.
