Fatal Bus Crash

LENOIR COUNTY - North Lenoir Fire-Rescue and LaGrange Fire responded for a school bus vs SUV collision early Monday morning. Crews found four minor injuries on the bus. One occupant of the SUV was critically injured, one was pronounced fatal on scene. Additional units included Lenoir County EMS and Emergency Management along with Greene County EMS.

RALEIGH - Over the last three years, an average of thirty-seven North Carolinians have died as a result of hostile fires. To prevent further deaths, injuries and property destruction, the NCAFC has published a short Position Paper supporting residential sprinklers in all housing units regardless of type, construction or size.

We suggest you read the paper, distribute it within your community and to regional news media. Your department should additionally advocate this position and starting spreading the word through your fire prevention and education activities.

Three people were killed in a single vehicle crash Sunday night at the close of the Thanksgiving Holiday travel period when their van flipped numerous times. The interstate was closed during the investigation.

CARY - Cary Ladder 1 arrived at 211 Indigo Drive to find heavy fire showing from the rear. The fire was concentrated on the a rear deck and gazebo with some extension to the house. Two lines were quickly put in service. Units responding included L1, E2, E4, T7, R2, C21, EMS580 and Battalion Chief 2.
