Serious MVC in Mint Hill

MECKLENBURG COUNTY - Idlewild, Robinson and
Mint Hill Fire Departments responded to a serious MVC on
Interstate 485 at Blair Road Bridge. A van hit the bridge at
full force. Companies worked for thirty minutes to extricate the
driver who was airlifted out by Med Center Air to CMC. The crash
occurred last Friday, November 9th.

GASTON COUNTY - According to the National Fire Academy, in 2005 arsonists
set more than 52,000 fires in structures and vehicles, killing
hundreds of people and causing millions of dollars in property
damage. To address this costly and dangerous issue, Gaston County has formed a Fire Investigation Task Force, that includes
numerous local, State and Federal agencies.

JOHNSTON COUNTY - 50-210
and West Johnston responded to a brush fire that also destroyed a
car and tractor-trailer in early September. The North Carolina
Forestry Service responded with a plow to assist.

County EMS Announces Re-numbering Scheme

RALEIGH - Wake County EMS has released
a new numbering scheme for all EMS agencies in Wake County. Several
different systems were previously in use, but a comprehensive system
will now be utilized. All EMS resources in the county are dispatched
by Raleigh-Wake County 911. The new system is expected to be
operational on November 28th.
