HIGH POINT - The High Point Fire
Department responded to this well involved vacant dwelling on
Wednesday, October 11. Due to heavy fire conditions, crews were
forced to go defensive on the fire.

RALEIGH - Engine 18 was first due
at this townhome fire Thursday morning around 0630 hours.
Additional units responding were Engines 16 and 4, Ladder 16,
Rescue 14, Battalion Chiefs 4 and 1, Car 5 and SR5.

CHARLOTTE - CFD units responded to
this roll-over crash at North Davidson and West Sugar Creek
Road. Three vehicles were involved with two injuries. One
patient was died from his injuries.

DUPLIN COUNTY - On Thursday, October 12, Chinquapin Fire and EMS,
Northeast Fire and Duplin County EMS 3 were dispatched to South NC
41 Highway in front of Laniers Auto Sales. The collision involved a
tractor-trailer and a pickup, killing one person.

WARRENTON - The Warrenton Rural
Volunteer Fire Department will hold a dedication ceremony on
October 22 at 1500 at their new fire station on South Main
Street. It is also the company's 50th anniversary.

BUNCOMBE COUNTY - On Sunday
October 15, 2006, the Buncombe County Firefighters Association
held their annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. The
service honored nine members of the Fire/EMS service in
Buncombe County who passed away the previous year.
The Buncombe County Firefighters Honor Guard organized the
event and along with several Chief Officers made presentation
to the families of the nine members honored. The memorial
service is held annually the Sunday after fire prevention
week. Buncombe County has not had any line of duty loses since
the early to mid- 80's.
