CATAWBA -
At 5:49 on Friday afternoon, September 14, Denver Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at Balls Creek Campground located off of Buffalo Shoals Road in Catawba. Engine 14 was on scene less than five minutes later with four fire fighters on board.

Upon arrival the fire fighters assisted with fire suppression and were able to help extinguish the fire, which destroyed nine of the wooden tents. There were three others that suffered moderate and an additional three that suffered minor damage.
