Fire Extends to Adjacent Dwelling

PINEVILLE - Pineville was assisted by
Carolina, Providence and Charlotte firefighters at this rapidly
spreading house fire this past weekend. One firefighter was
treated for heat exhaustion.

WINSTON-SALEM - The Winston-Salem
Fire Department responded to this fire in a vacant house on
Glenn Avenue on Sunday, September 10. Battalion 3, arriving
first on scene, reported heavy smoke and flames showing from
Division "C". Companies arrived and quickly brought the fire
under control. The Fire Marshal's office responded to assist
with the investigation. There were no injuries. The cause is
under investigation.
This was one of two working fires on Sunday. The other
fire engulfed one apartment on the first floor at the Glen
Eagles Apartments on the West side of the City at 2200 hours.
Four occupants were displaced. The cause of this fire was
accidental.

DUPLIN COUNTY - At 0843 on Tuesday,
Beulaville Fire and EMS, Sarecta Fire and Medic 5 were
dispatched to a two-vehicle collision with one vehicle
overturned. Car-1 arrived and advised both vehicles were off the
roadway with no injuries.

NASHVILLE - The Nashville Fire
District Auxiliary raised and presented Kay Teague of the North
Carolina Jaycee Burn Center a check for $1,374.50. The check was
presented on behalf of teams that competed in the Third Annual
Nashville Fire/Rescue/EMS and Law Enforcement Benefit Softball
Tournament. The games were held on September 9. Nashville, Rocky
Mount, Coopers, Momeyer, Bailey and Warren County Fire
Departments competed.
First place was awarded to Coopers; second place to Nashville
and third place went to Rocky Mount Fire.

GASTON COUNTY -
The New Hope Fire Department responded to this MVC involving a passenger
vehicle and motorcycle. Upon impact both vehicles caught fire.
Remarkably nobody was seriously injured from this incident. New Hope
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and assisted Gaston
County Paramedics with patient assessment.

IREDELL COUNTY - West Iredell Fire, Iredell Rescue and Iredell
EMS were dispatched to a possible Vehicle rollover on Interstate 40
near MM 145 at around 0115 on September 11. First West Iredell units
on scene advised that they had located a vehicle under the Old
Mountain Rd bridge that looked to have rolled multiple times. One
person was injured and was Airlifted from Iredell Memorial.
