Decals Available to Honor

CHARLOTTE - The two-inches square decal pictured at left is now
available. They are red reflective and can be used as a window
decal, placed on a helmet or any hard non-porous surface.

Decals are $5.00 each with all proceeds going
to the City of Charleston Firemen's Fund.
To get a sticker, send $5 for each sticker (cash or check) and a
self addressed stamped envelope to:

You can now register
on-line for the 2007 South Atlantic Fire Expo, which is
the joint conference of the North Carolina Association of Fire
Chiefs and the NCSFA. The Conference will be held August 23-25, 2007
in Winston-Salem.

MOORESVILLE -
A large home near Lake Norman caught fire just after midnight
Tuesday. The home was not occupied, and was located in a remote spot
set off from any main road. By the time crews arrived and found the
home, it was fully involved.

Firefighter's Pancake Breakfast

CHARLOTTE - Charlotte firefighters served over 300 plates of pancake
breakfasts this past weekend and were able to donate $1,643.00 to
the Charlotte Chapter of the Firefighter's Burned Children Fund.
Companies participating included Engines 5A, 1A, 64A, Ladder 1A and
ten off-duty firefighters and their families.

Fund Established for Lewisville Firefighter Battling Cancer

LEWISVILLE - The Mark Johnson Relief Fund has been established to
help firefighter Mark Johnson who is currently battling cancer.
Donations are being accepted and a Poker Run and Spaghetti Dinner
are planned.

Fire on Garden Street

WINSTON-SALEM - WSFD firefighters responded to this manufactured
home on Garden Street on July 9. Companies arrived to find the
building well involved on the Division B/C corner. The fire was
quickly contained.
Forsyth County EMS responded with their Mobile Support Unit and
established a Rehab Group due to the heat. Units responding were
Engines 3, 12, 10, 11, 15, 17, Rescue 1, Truck 1 and Battalions 2
and 3. No injuries were reported.

Franklin County Structure Fire

BUNN - Bunn and Youngsville responded to a structure fire in the
Spencer's Gate subdivision on July 6. Engine 26 arrived and
found a fully involved structure and approximately a half acre
woods fire.

LINCOLN COUNTY - Denver responded to this structure fire Sunday
on North Ingleside Farm Road. An outbuilding was involved that
contained several compressed gas cyclinders. |

HAVELOCK - Lightning is the suspected cause of a fire at the
Hampton Inn on Tourist Center Drive during a thunderstorm
Tuesday afternoon. |
