Charlotte firefighters and CMPD officers are surrounded by the
American flag suspended from a ladder at the memorial football game
for fallen officers Shelton and Clark.

2006 Stats

RALEIGH - After a recent visit to the Raleigh-Wake Emergency
Communications Center, I was given access to their stats for 2006.
The center is the primary PSAP for the county, and dispatches all
fire and rescue agencies in the county with the sole exception of
the Cary Fire Department.

NEWTON - Eight bales of hay
loaded on a truck parked between two silos and near several farm
buildings burned Tuesday around 1155 hours. The Newton Fire
Department responded and remained on scene for nearly three hours.
Foam was used to complete extinguishment and overhaul.

LOUISBURG - The Louisburg Fire
Department responded to the Old Castle Bark Plant in Louisburg on
June 17 for a large fire in a mulch pile. Louisburg Ladder 2 was
special called for aerial operations. Approximately 25,000 gallons
of water was used to extinguish the fire. After knockdown, company
employees turned over the piles with a bulldozer.
