DUPLIN COUNTY - At 14:58 on
Tuesday May 31, the Beulaville Fire Department, Chinquapin Fire
Department, Duplin County EMS Medic 5, Medic 3, and EMS 2 along with
Eastcare Air Medical were dispatched to a MVC at the intersection of
Hallsville Road and Sandlin Road for two vehicles with one
overturned with a patient still inside.
Medic 5 arrived at 15:02 and found all patients out of their
vehicles with a total of three patients. BFD units arrived and
pulled a 1.75 inch foam attack line to monitor a fuel leak from the
pickup that was overturned.

MARION - What may have been the largest structure fire in McDowell
County history started with an urgent call to the Marion Fire
Department on January 14, 1976. Marion's Fire Chief Jim Neal
recently uncovered several hours worth of fireground traffic from
the night the Broyhill Furniture plant burned.

BLADENBORO - The Bladenboro
Fire Department responded to this motor vehicle collision on Highway
211 By-pass on Saturday morning. A truck pulled out in front of a
truck pulling the equipment trailer. There were no serious injuries.

MECKLENBURG COUNTY - On June 1
at 03:32 hours, Cornelius and Davidson Fire Departments were alerted
to a vehicle collision on Interstate 77 near Exit 30 in Davidson’s
primary area. Cornelius 10 (Assistant Chief J. Robinette) arrived
on-scene and reported a tractor-trailer truck fully involved and
assumed command. Davidson Rescue 8 later arrived and began patient
care. Cornelius Engine 4 and Rescue 13 arrived and their crews
extinguished the burning truck.
Davidson Engine 2 and 3 arrived and provided water supply. An ALS
unit from Medic transported the patient with very minor injuries.
Due to the proximity of the blaze to the Griffith Street Bridge,
representatives from the NC Department of Transportation responded
to inspect the damage to the bridge. Cornelius units remained
on-scene while the bridge was inspected, the wreckage was cleaned,
and the interstate was reopened for traffic. All Cornelius Units
cleared at 0832 hours.
