CHARLOTTE -
The first of many calls in the 911 center was received at
7:22 pm Wednesday, May 24, 2006, reporting a fire at 2724 Westport
Road. Firefighters arrived at the Coyne Textile Services Company to
report a working building fire with heavy smoke and flames showing.

RALEIGH - Firefighters quickly
controlled a fire in an attic space at a strip shopping center
Wednesday afternoon. Engine 18 was first on scene at Fantastic Sams
at 8363 Creedmoor Road. Other units included Engine 4, Engine 16,
Truck 23, Rescue 14, and Battalion Chief 4.

RALEIGH -
The New Hope Fire Department was
first on the scene of a working fire in the 5000 block of Buffaloe
Road late Tuesday morning. Sparked by a construction worker, the
massive blaze destroyed a 6,316-square foot unoccupied mansion that
was being disassembled for salvage.
Units from Raleigh, Wendell, Eastern Wake, and Bay Leaf assisted.
Though under control in about 30 minutes, units remained on the
scene until after 9:00 p.m. that evening.
