FRI JAN 11
SUBMITTED BY JIM LANDIS, GASTONIA FIRE DEPARTMENT

GASTONIA -
The Gastonia Fire Department and their Special Operations Team responded Thursday morning, December 27th to an incident where a woman was pinned under her truck. The lady had taken her dog out for exercise in a field and got her truck stuck in the mud. As she was attempting to free the truck, she managed to become wedged under the vehicle. She had one leg forward and the other bent back toward her face and pinned beneath the truck. The Gastonia Fire Department used air bags and cribbing to lift the truck off of the patient. She managed to stay on her cell phone to direct rescuers to her remote location. She was flown to Carolina's Medical Center.
