Resident Receives 2nd Degree Burns, Saved by Cat

Johnston County


JOHNSTON COUNTY – A seventy-one-year-old female received second degree burns after her dwelling caught fire on January 24th.

The incident occurred at 1604 Juniper Church Road in Four Oaks.

The owner also suffered smoke inhalation injuries. Witnesses at the scene say the woman was alerted to the fire by her cat.

Blackmon’s Crossroads, Four Oaks and Strickland’s Crossroads firefighters responded along with the Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office.
