Incident description
Inter-County Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 450 Woodville Road at approximately 3:30 am. Upon arrival of Engine 71, heavy fire was found to becoming form the Division B and C sides of the structure with fire through the roof in this area. A defensive fire attack was begun to stop the advancement of the fire through the structure until additional lines could be put into place. Personnel and equipment from Durant’s Neck VFD responded through automatic aid to assist, and Winfall VFD was requested through mutual aid. After additional lines were put into service to control the fire, and interior attack was made to bring the fire under control. The structure was 62 years old and had been added onto several times which created void spaces for the fire to travel and difficulty for the fire fighters to gain access to these areas. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes.
