LANDIS – One firefighter sustained minor injuries while battling a blaze at an industrial complex overnight in Rowan County.
Landis Fire and other companies were dispatched at approximately 04:00 for a reported fire at 414 North Meriah Street. The multi-story complex measures approximately 200 x 300 feet.
Firefighters reported fire showing from the roof on arrival.
The complex is currently not being used as a mill, but several businesses were renting space in the facility.
One firefighter was transported with heat related injuries.
A second alarm was called, followed by a third for additional manpower. Additional assistance was received from fire units from Cabarrus County.
A preliminary investigation points to possible demolition that was done at the facility on Wednesday.
The fire was contained in approximately two hours, and Command began releasing companies at around 08:00.
The fire building is the former Parkdale Mills plant.

Where it’s showing ‘K’, like ‘K414′, it should be ‘T’, Rowan County abbreviates Tankers with T, so it should be T414, T675, T436, etc. On landis, I dunno waht this ‘IC’ is, can you elaborate? Also ‘R44′is wrong. That’s a squad, and on station 58. ‘SQ58′. You have China Grove’s trucks wrong too, showing 436 as an E and Tanker, when China Grove’s engine is E432. 2nd alarm South Salisbury trucks are also wrong, consisting of E741, T744, L74. For WRVFD Station 66, they don’t even HAVE a tanker. It’d be E661 and E662.
