SWANSBORO – It is with great sadness that I report the death of Swansboro Fire Department Retired Chief Max Powell. Some of you may remember Max as the Deputy Insurance Commissioner for NCDOI. Max was the guy we all loved to see, that’s because he was bringing us a grant check.
