VANCE COUNTY – Fire units from Vance and Warren Counties were dispatched shortly before 6 o’clock Wednesday morning to a reported house fire on Allison Cooper Road at Bill Bragg Morton Road which is just south of US 1 Highway near the Warren County line. Cokesbury Volunteer Fire Department, Vance County Fire Department, and Drewry Volunteer Fire Department (Warren County) were initially dispatched to the call.

Cokesbury arrived to find a vacant house fully involved. They immediately set up defensive operations and called for mutual aid tankers from Soul City and Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Departments from Warren County for water supply. Progress Energy was needed for a downed live power line.
