Firefighter Injured in House Fire

Vance County


HENDERSON – A family of four and a firefighter were hospitalized Sunday morning after a home caught fire in Henderson, Vance County fire officials said.

A man, woman and two children were all taken to Duke University Hospital, where the man remained in critical condition Sunday night, authorities said. The rest of the family was treated and released.

A firefighter suffered second-degree burns to his face and was taken to the Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

The house, at 115 Satterwhite Point Lane, was destroyed. The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
