POLK COUNTY – Firefighters from Polk County and Spartanburg County, South Carolina battled a fire in the club house of the Red Fox Country Club Monday morning.
Heavy fire conditions were seen throughout the one-story brick building. The structure was reported to be empty at the time of the fire.
The blaze was reported just after 08:00 hours Monday. Initial units included Columbus Fire (Polk County Station 22), Mill Srpring (24) and Green Creek (26).
Firefighters requested mutual aid from nearby Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Landrum (Spartanburg County Station 17), New Prospect (21) and Spartanburg City responded. Campbello (Spartanburg 4) was requested to respond their aerial.
Command then requested Tryon Fire and Saluda (Polk 23) to the fire.

The Red Cross was assisting firefighters on the scene.
The SBI has been called to assist investigators.
The fire was placed under control by Command at around 10:30 hours.
