RALEIGH – Rake-Wake 911, the primary PSAP for Wake County is now advertising the following position:

 

Senior Systems Administrator

One Position

Closing Date: 11/10/2011

Salary: $47,124

 

Minimum Requirements:

4 years of experience working with networks, to include at least 2 years of experience working with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems including database management, reporting and analysis of data and/or relevant experience with public safety applications. Associate’s Degree in computer science, information systems, math or a related field. Knowledge of Public Safety Answering Point equipment preferred. DCI/NCIS certification required within 4 months of employment. Must be able to provide on-call support on a rotating schedule. Must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds.

Position Duties:

Manages and develops strategies for streamlining processes. Assists with installation, maintenance, documentation, configuration, and replacement of various Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP)systems, to include Computer Aided Dispatch, telephone and radio systems. Plans, designs, documents, maintains, and implements various standard systems to include desktop PCs, servers, network equipment, and software applications; supports, maintains and documents various applications to include Microsoft Windows Server (2003, 2008), Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, Anti-Virus, Backup Software, various network tools, various Linux distributions; plans, documents, and maintains a virtual infrastructure utilizing VMware products; implements and maintains storage area networks and provides oversight of critical applications; proactively monitors all systems and applications to ensure high availability and compliance with disaster recovery plans; routinely works with vendors for procurement, maintenance and upgrades of all systems and applications; performs regular backups and routine restores; researches new technology and presents enhancement proposals; performs on-site and remote technical support; provides emergency on-call support on a rotating scheduled. Works under the general supervision of the ECC Systems Manager.
