Wake Forest Fire Department – Fulltime Firefighter Positions

Wake Forest Fire Department Inc. will be opening the application process for fulltime firefighters working rotating 24 hr shifts (A, B, C).

Salary: $31,510.50/ annually

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a U.S.citizen
• 18 years of age
• High school diploma, or GED
• Valid NC Driver’s license

• North CarolinaFirefighter II Certification
• North Carolina EMT-B Certification or higher
• North Carolina HazMat Ops plus Certification or higher
• NIMS 100 & 200

Job Description:

Performs firefighting suppression and prevention of fires; rescue victims, answer calls, medical emergencies, operates/maintains all department equipment and station facilities; participates in ongoing training programs; works under close supervision in accordance with established policies and procedures. Performs duties as directed; may be required to perform other assigned related duties. Must be in good physical condition to be able to enter dangerous situations and perform under strenuous conditions for extended periods.

Applicant Selection Process:

• Qualified applicants must take a physical agility test, written exam, and an oral interview.
• Complete background investigation
• Pass an established medical physical exam and drug screening
• Qualified applicants not hired will be placed on a hiring list, active for one year from the closing date of the selection process
